Meghan Markle is getting a "taste of her own medicine" as her half-brother slams her in his Big Brother appearance, according to a commentator.
Thomas Markle Jr, her 55-year-old half-brother, has joined the "Z-lister" show Celebrity Big Brother Australia and was filmed trashing the Duchess of Sussex in the trailer.
In the clip, he steps out of a limousine and says: "I told Prince Harry, 'I think she's going to ruin your life.'"
He also brands Meghan "shallow" in the teaser for the show and calls himself "the biggest brother of them all".
While Meghan's relationship with mum Doria Ragland appears to remain strong, she is estranged from her father Thomas Markle Sr and many of her relatives on his side of the family.
Meghan claims to have not spoken to her half-sister Samantha for 19 years and her father's decision to give the press a letter Meghan wrote to him sparked a bitter court case.
When asked if she "felt sorry" for Meghan on the podcast Palace Confidential, Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine compared Meghan's situation with her family to the Queen's.
She said: "No, I think she's about to find out what it feels like to have someone cash in on your family, which is what the Queen has been dealing with for the last 18 months.
"She and Harry have been cashing in on their Royal Family, by cashing in on all sorts of Netflix deals and giving interviews to people and saying dreadful things.
"It's a taste of her own medicine I reckon."
Discussing Thomas Markle Junior's decision to enter the big brother house, journalist Charlotte Griffiths said Meghan was being "tainted by the Z-lister brush".
She said: "The last thing she wants to be associated with is Big Brother, the very bottom of the celebrity rung is Big Brother."
Delving into the alleged "Obama snub", the commentator added: "She wants to be in the stratosphere of the Obamas, and pesky brothers are tainting her with this murky z-lister brush – she must be hating it."
It's not the first time Thomas Markle Jr has used his royal connections, having previously appeared in a beer advert with a Meghan lookalike where he is filmed trying to "steal" the Queen's crown and also boxing under the name "The Duke".
Representatives for Meghan have been approached for comment.
