Mom of girl, 4, ‘dunked in freezing pond and tortured to death’ LAUGHS as she appears in court

A MOM who allegedly dunked her toddler daughter in a freezing pond and tortured her to death laughed at her court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.

Mary Mast – a 29-year-old mom who is facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death and domestic assault – appeared to smile as she left court in Warsaw, Missouri, KY3 News reported.

Two members of Child Advocacy Against Pedophilia, Mel Pleasant and Tiffany Hill, attended the weekday court hearing in a push for justice and were horrified to see the deceased child's mom laughing.

The two woman told the news outlet: "Seeing them was very hard. The mom especially. She laughed. She laughed when she left the courtroom.

"I find nothing funny not one thing funny about this case. About her daughter’s death.

"She turned around from her attorney she smiled the whole way out. That’s disturbing."

Four-year-old Jennifer passed away in later December in Benton County, Missouri.

Jennifer was allegedly brutally beaten before getting submerged in a freezing pond and left to die.

James Mast had revealed to investigators that his daughter "had been beaten, submerged in a pond, then left to freeze on the bank" before being brought back into the home.

Her parents, Mary Mast and James Mast, 28, are both facing charges in their daughter's death, along with their neighbors Ethan Mast, 35, and Kourtney Aumen, 21.

Despite sharing the same last name, Ethan Mast is not related to the victim's family, according to police.

Investigators revealed the neighbors – who have both been charged with second-degree murder – killed Jennifer to "remove a demon," KY3 reported.

James Mast has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death and serious injury.

All four suspects were arrested by the Benton County Sheriff's Office in December after Jennifer was discovered dead in her home.

Jennifer's parent's reportedly told authorities that their neighbors purposely abused their daughter for about two weeks in order to remove a "demon," ABC17 reported.

Ethan Mast – the only suspect who didn't appear in court on Tuesday – has his bond hearing set for January 19.

According to a probable cause statement, obtained by ABC17, James and Mary allegedly looked on as Ethan Mast and Aumen abused their children.

Mary and James Mast reportedly have two other children, a two-year-old boy, and a baby – both who remain in protective custody after the death of Jennifer.

The baby was the only child not suspected of being abused.

Tuesday marked the first court appearance for Jennifer's parent's and Aumen.
