Mystery as woman in her 60s is found dead on A2 motorway with police calling for drivers with dashcams to come forward

POLICE are appealing for drivers with dashcams to come forward after a woman in her 60s was found dead on a motorway. 

Officers were called to a spot on the coastbound carriageway A2 near Dartford at 12.25 am on Sunday where a body was found.

The discovery was made close to the junction for the A2018, at Old Bexley Lane.

Ambulance crews were also called but the woman was declared dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have now been informed.

Officers from Kent Police have now launched an investigation.

They are investigating the circumstances that led to the woman's death which at the moment is unclear.

In a statement, Kent Police said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the full circumstances and.

The police statement continued: "We are appealing to anyone with information to contact them."

"This includes motorists in the area who may have important footage on dashcams."
