National Lottery Scratchcard odds REVEALED – you've got more chance scooping a prize with these 5 cards than others

THEY are the brightly-coloured cards that cost just a few pounds but could make you a millionaire in seconds.

But knowing which of the many National Lottery scratchcards to go for to turn your few quid into a fortune can be a troublesome task.

Thankfully, experts have crunched the numbers to reveal the odds of bagging a win – and the answer might surprise you.

According to Oddschecker, the best scratchcard to snap up is £500 Loaded with odds of just 1 in 3.15.

For just a fiver you could be in the running for £500.

In second place, with the same odds, is Full of £500s which also has a top prize of £500.

Cashword Multiplier follows close behind, which sees punters scratch off letters to reveal symbols to create full words.

At £3 a pop with odds of 1 in 3.27, players could pocket a tidy £300,000.

Christmas Lines comes in fourth, with a 1 in 3.3 probability of raking in some dosh.

And the £3 festive game gives players the opportunity to walk away with £300,000 in the bank.

But if it's big money you're after, it might be worth having a shot at Monopoly Millionaire.

A whopping £1million is at stake – with the odds of scooping some cash at 1 in 3.35.

Or, try Monopoly Deluxe – arguably the best scratchcard to win on – with £2million up for grabs.

The game comes in at seventh on the list, with odds of 1 in 3.38.

Wads In Your Wallet has the worst odds of all National Lottery scratchcards, with a 1 in 4.42 chance of winning.

There is also only £5,000 available in one go – a measly offering compared to the Monopoly big guns.

Both £100 Bonus and £100 Match Bonus also feature low down in the rankings, with odds of 1 in 3.9 and top prizes of just £100.

SCOOP SOME CASH

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "One of the nations' favourite pastimes since they were introduced in 1995, punters across the UK have been avid scratch card fans for over 25 years now.

"In terms of your most likely chance of winning, an Oddschekcer investigation has ruled that the £500 Loaded card presents the punter with the most chance of winning per card (1-in-3.15).

"As you can imagine, the least likely chance of winning lies with the premium entries.

"With Wads in Your Wallet, the punter has a 1-in-4.42 chance per card."

Experts calculated the probabilities from the day the game starts when the cards go on sale to the public.

The odds take into account the number of physical cards available in the initial print run of each game.

'FEEL-GOOD BOOST'

Among those lucky enough to bank a small fortune on a scratchcard is Sean Irwin, who bought a £3 Ruby Doubler while popping to the shops earlier this year.

The plumber screamed for joy after discovering he had scooped £300,000 after matching two number 22s.

A furloughed barman and his student NHS nurse also nabbed a big win on a National Lottery Win All scratchcard.

Jonny Wright, 40, said his "legs went to jelly" after realising they had bagged a £100,000 golden payout.

And mum Sandra Davine got the shock of her life when she realised she hand won £300,000 after initially believing her winnings were just £1,000.

Stunned Sandra said at the time: "You must be joking. There’s no way."

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: "Our days can be made up of little wins that give us a feel-good boost.

"Maybe you thought you'd lost your keys, but found them in your coat, or maybe you beat your personal best on your morning run.

"With a scratchcard from The National Lottery, you could get that winning feeling in an instant.

"Whether it's £1 or £1million, a scratchcard could turn today into a winsday."
