NJ native who confessed to cross-country killing spree charged with fifth murder

A New Jersey native has been charged with a fifth murder, after previously confessing to a cross-country killing spree that left four people dead.

Sean Lannon, 47, of New Mexico, initially admitted to the Feb. 24 murder of Randall Apostalon, 60 — a man he hired to unwittingly help move the remains of three other victims that had been jammed into storage containers, according to NJ Advance Media.

The crates contained body parts of Lannon’s ex-wife, 39-year-old Jennifer Lannon, and two other men that he admitted killing at his Grants, New Mexico home after finding evidence the three were abusing his young children, according to the report.

The decomposing remains of the four victims were reportedly found in Apostalon’s truck at Albuquerque’s airport on March 5, the day after Lannon flew to Philadelphia to kill 66-year-old New Jersey resident Michael Dabkowski, a man that Lannon said sexually abused him as a child.

In the latest confession, Lannon said he went to Dabkowski’s East Greenwich home on March 8 to retrieve evidence of the alleged abuse and beat him to death with a hammer during a struggle, according to the report.

He was arrested in St. Louis on March 10, on his way back to New Mexico, and confessed to all five murders.

Lannon also told police he killed an additional 11 “drug dealers,” but authorities have not yet substantiated those claims, according to reports.

The suspect reportedly said he murdered his ex-wife after he caught her and another man, Jesten Mata, 40, drugging his children.

Lannon said he later lured Mata back to his house and killed him, but not before Mata showed him a picture of two other men molesting his kids, according to the outlet.

Lannon said he then coaxed one of the alleged abusers, Matthew Miller, 21, to his home and killed him, the article said.

When Lannon was apprehended, he told police he was on his way back to New Mexico to murder the other man who was allegedly pictured abused his children, the report said.

In Tuesday’s criminal complaint, Lannon reportedly said he hired Apostalon to use his truck to help him move the dismembered remains of Jennifer, Mata and Miller.

When the two could not find a storage unit, Apostalon reportedly told Lannon to remove the bins from his truck. After Lannon realized he had no place to put the evidence, he beat and killed the older man and stole his truck, parking it next to a dumpster in his apartment complex to hide the smell, court documents reportedly said.

Lannon reportedly then drove the truck to the airport and went home in a cab to get his children and return to the airport to fly east to finish the murder spree.

Police were alerted to the foul smelling vehicle a day later and discovered Apostalon’s body in the front seat covered by a tarp, according to the report.

Lannon reportedly remains jailed in New Jersey in connection with the Dabkowski murder.
