Obama branded a 'parasite' who oversaw huge Dem losses & arrogantly thought he'd have easily beaten Trump in 2016

BARACK Obama was a "parasite" who arrogantly thought he would have easily beaten Donald Trump in 2016, a new book claims.

The former president sucked the Democrats dry for his reelection, oversaw huge losses and was guilty of negligence, according to Edward-Isaac Dovere.

In his new book – Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaigns to Defeat Trump – the journalist claims Obama used the party structure as a "host" for his 2012 campaign for a second term.

He says he then treated it like a "husk" to be discarded with $2.4million in debt, the MailOnline reports.

Dovere, a staff writer for The Atlantic, alleges Obama led the "pilfering of talent, money, resources, and purpose" away from the Democratic National Committee to his own reelection team.

He highlights that after eight years under Obama, his party suffered a net loss of 947 state legislative seats, 63 House seats, 11 senators, and 13 governors – numbers which are "hard to ignore".

The journalist goes on to argue that Obama was so arrogant that he thought he could have easily beaten Trump had he run for a third term in 2016.

He writes: "Ultimately, Obama's math comes down to a simple calculation: he has suggested in conversations with people close to him that he thinks he would have won had he been able to be a candidate in 2016.

"The economy, the Democratic debris, Russia – if he could have run for a third term, even confronted with all these issues, he believes, he would have figured out how to pull a victory off anyway.

"If you asked him: 'Would he have beaten Trump?' I don't think he thinks it would be close."

He continues: "Obama used the party structure as a host for his campaign.

"In his second term, he cared about what happened to the husk as much as any parasite does."

Elsewhere in the book, Dovere writes that Obama branded Trump a "madman", a "racist, sexist pig", and "that f***ing lunatic".

He also says Obama called Trump a "corrupt motherf*****r" after learning he was holding phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin without aides on the line.

Battle for the Soul, which is released on Tuesday, also provides a detailed account of the 2020 Democrat Presidential race which saw Joe Biden chosen as the party's candidate before he went on to beat Trump.

In it, he claims Jill Biden told close supporters that Kamala Harris could “go f**k herself” after she attacked the president’s record on race during a 2019 debate.

Harris’ hit on Biden became one of the most memorable moments of the Democratic primaries and left the then-candidate’s team scrambling to recover.

Biden himself was allegedly also unnerved by the attack, turning to Pete Buttigieg on stage during a commercial break and blasting Harris’ comments as “some f**king bulls**t”.

His team pushed back on Harris’ criticism over the next few days as polls showed her gaining ground on Biden.

Yet while the Biden campaign’s pushback attempted to appear composed to the public, Jill did not remain as polite behind the scenes.

“She had watched the debate from her seat in the opera house, about ready to jump out of it,” Dovere writes.

But the pair hugged today at a ceremony during which Biden presented the Medal of Honor to Army Col Ralph Puckett, a 94-year-old Korean War veteran.

After the comments were reported, The First Lady did not deny that she made the remark.

“That was two years ago. We’ve moved on from that,” she said when asked by a reporter.
