Pictured: Sisters aged 17 and 21 killed in horror car crash – as devastated family reveal ‘our hearts are shattered into a million pieces’

The devastated family of two sisters who died in a car crash have shared a heartbreaking tribute, revealing their ‘hearts are shattered into a million pieces’. 

Madison, 21, and Liberty, 17, North, known to family and friends as Maddie and Libby, were travelling on the A361 Frome Bypass on Tuesday 25 July when their vehicle collided with another car at around 10:30pm. 

The collision occurred when a Volkswagen Polo collided with an Audi RS6. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital by air ambulance. He remains there in a critical but stable condition.  

Tributes have poured in on social media for the ‘adorable’ sisters with one family member writing: ‘ Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces. 

‘My beautiful Nieces Maddie 21 and Libby 17. Adorable daughters of my dear brother Jason and sister in law Verity. Lives taken way to soon’.

The sisters were travelling on the A361 Frome Bypass when the collision happened 

Elsewhere, they have been described as ‘beautiful girls inside and out’ and ‘two beautiful angels’ while others expressed their condolences to the sisters’ parents. 

A crowdfunding page has since been launched with the aim of raising £5,000 in memory of the sisters. 

At the time of writing, £8,376 had been raised.  

Avon and Somerset Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision. 

In a statement, police said: ‘We are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a collision in Frome in which two sisters sadly died. 

‘On Tuesday 25 July at around 10.30pm, officers were called to the A361 Frome Bypass following a fatal collision involving a VW Polo and an Audi RS6.

‘Formal identification has now taken place and we can confirm the deceased are sisters Madison, aged 21, and Liberty North, aged 17, known as Maddie and Libby.

‘Our thoughts remain with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time and they are being offered support by a specially-trained family liaison officer. 

‘Our investigation into the collision is ongoing and officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision and anyone with dashcam, doorbell, mobile or CCTV footage. 

‘They are especially keen to speak with the driver of a white VW who was in the vicinity at the time of the collision.
