Police close roads in Kensington after reports of ‘three loud bangs’

  • Major police incident underway after reports of ‘bangs’ near Hyde Park, London 
  • Eyewitnesses said they saw paramedics giving CPR to at least one person 

A major police incident is underway after there were reports of ‘three loud bangs’ on a busy residential street in central London.

Police officers rushed to the scene near to Hyde Park on Saturday afternoon at around 4pm, as at least five police cars and one unmarked vehicle were seen.

Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen paramedics performing CPR to at least one person, reports MyLondon. 

A police helicopter is also reportedly circling the area. 

Kensington and Chelsea Police said: ‘Officers are responding to an incident at the junction of Kensington Road and Palace Gate. 

‘There is no risk to the public but roads are closed and are likely to remain so for some time.’
