Prince Harry slammed by experts for ‘making Invictus Games all about himself’

Prince Harry's latest televised interview hasn't gone down too well with royal experts who have criticised the Duke of Sussex.

Harry, 37, recently spoke on NBC's Today programme with anchor Hoda Kotb about his wife Meghan Markle's secret reunion with the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

The Sussexes secretly jetted into the UK on April 13, before Meghan's first reunion with her inlaws since stepping down as a senior working royal and jetting to California.

During his interview, Harry appeared to avoid any questions relating to his strained relationship with Charles and his older brother, Prince William.

Royal commentator, Richard Eden claims Harry made "calculated digs at his family," during the televised chat.

Speaking on the MailPlus' Palace Confidential podcast, he stated that the NBC interview should have focused on the Invictus Games "but oh no, it's all about Harry."

The Daily Mail diary editor added: " To me, it seemed really calculating.

"Harry's now married to an actress and I get the impression that he's given guidance, tips, he's prepared for this type of interview."

He went on to say: "It was meant to be about the Invictus Games, which is a really worthy project and there are some fascinating stories there.

"But, oh no, it's all about Harry, everything he said, the calculated digs at his family, it was a real hark back to the Oprah interview.

"It seemed very much calculated and planned for, really."

Harry and former Suits actress Meghan famously delivered a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which, she claimed members of the Royal Family had made comments over the race of their son, Archie Harrison.

However, the former military serviceman was keen to explain that the comments were not made by his gran, the Queen, or the late Prince Philip, while Prince William stated they were "very much not a racist family".

Discussing reuniting with the Queen at Windsor, Harry told Hoda: "It was great.

"It was really nice to see her in some element of privacy, being with her was great, it was just so nice to see her, she's on great form.

"She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure that she's protected and got the right people around her."

He added: "Both Meghan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her.

"We have a really special relationship, we talk about things that she can't talk about with anybody else."
