Prince Harry wrote memoir because he couldn’t ‘keep trying to make family happy’

Prince Harry’s new book Spare is written "for himself" because he "can't keep trying to make his family happy", it has been claimed.

The source of a massive amount of controversy and anticipation, the Duke of Sussex’s upcoming release has been set for January 10, 2023.

According to the Telegraph, a source has claimed that despite so many waiting with bated breath the book will be for the Prince more than anyone else as he “couldn't keep trying to make his family happy”.

The source added: “You can't kind of always live your life trying to make your family or your siblings happy. You have to choose your own happiness.”

Elsewhere it has been claimed the book will be a “beautiful read” rather than an assassination attempt on his family.

The Prince is understood to have trips to the UK planned, including a possible tour to promote the book – but first he is understood to be due to make the journey in the New Year to state his intentions to his fellow royals.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, a source said: “Put it this way, it's not going to make for a relaxing family Christmas.”

Biographer Tom Bower said this book will be a massive deal for Harry and his wife Meghan Markle and one that could go either way.

Expected to be 416 pages long, reports in MailOnline claim the Prince was forced to submit his new title more than once.

Concerns have since been voiced it may have been made juicier in a bid to get publishers to allow it to go to print.

The book is part of a massive three-book £36million deal expected to see profits go to charity – although it isn’t known if this will include the book’s royalties.

Speaking to the Sun, a source said: “The book has been back and forth between Harry and [ghost writer] JR Moehringer and the publishers a few times. They wanted more than was in the first draft, and then Harry wanted to refine things after the Queen passed away.

“But there has been extra to-ing and fro-ing that people don't know about. This is because the publishers wanted more areas covered and more detail on some things that were already included.

“There is a real concern that that means Harry has had to sex up the book and include revelations that even he might not even be that comfortable with."
