Pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protesters clash in Times Square

Pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters could be seen brawling in Times Square Thursday as tensions in the region spilled into the street of Manhattan, videos showed.

Skirmishes between the groups erupted in the Midtown tourist hub as Israel and Hamas hoped a cease-fire in Gaza would end more than 10 days of devastating hostilities.

The footage, posted to Twitter by freelance reporter Oliya Scootercaster, showed a pro-Israel demonstrator getting socked in the stomach after attempting to chase down a man who snatched an Israeli flag from his hands.

More punches were thrown in tussles between the two sides as NYPD officers stepped in to separate them, according to the clip.

The video later showed a pro-Palestine protester being put in handcuffs after he tried to run after a man who grabbed his Palestinian flag.

Law enforcement sources said that 15 arrests were made.

Protesters also threw bottles and other projectiles at cops and pushed over planters and barriers in an attempt to block traffic. Fireworks were set off in the Diamond District on 47th Street, but it was unclear which side lit them, the sources said.

Demonstrators from each side appeared to have largely cleared out of the area by 7:30 p.m.
