The Queen is being nurtured back to health by close aides who have loyally stayed by her side since the death of Prince Philip.
Paul Whybrew, the Queen’s favourite courtier – who is known as ‘Tall Paul’ due to his 6ft 4in frame – and her dresser Angela Kelly are said to be a near constant presence by her side.
Mr Whybrew, 62, is seen as indispensable by the Monarch.
Said to be the only person trusted to touch her jigsaw puzzles, Mr Whybrew has been watching television with the Queen and, along with Ms Kelly, keeping her company as she convalesces.

An early sign of his loyalty came in 1982 when he wrestled Michael Fagan to the ground after the intruder broke into the Queen’s bedroom at Buckingham Palace.
After calming Fagan down, Mr Whybrew, whose title is Page of the Backstairs, offered him a whisky.
The courtier was also seen walking beside the Queen during her cameo with Daniel Craig as James Bond in a sketch for the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The daughter of a Liverpool docker, Ms Kelly is so close to the Queen that she was granted rare permission to write a book on her 20-year career inside the Palace.
A Palace source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘The Queen is very grateful for the loyal support she has received.’

She is understood to have been inundated with messages from the public. In addition to a healthy diet, she is thought to be exercising to keep her joints supple.
The Queen has given up her evening alcoholic tipple, but she is said to be buoyed by her ‘live-wire’ Corgi puppy, Muick, named after a loch at Balmoral.
The Queen is careful about her health and follows a strict regime, beginning with a daily pot of Earl Grey at 7.30am.
When not on official duties, she takes lunch alone at 12.30pm, with dishes such as grilled fish with courgettes or spinach and grilled chicken with salad.
At 5pm she has tea, which consists of scones with jam and clotted cream, and salmon, cucumber, ham and egg mayonnaise sandwiches. She is also said to love ‘jam pennies’ – sandwiches cut into circles the size of an old English penny.
Dinner is a relaxed affair, sometimes eaten off a tray, and consists of meat or fish with vegetables. Former royal chef Darren McGrady said: ‘She loves game, things like Gaelic steak.’
Advice from doctors to curtail walks with her dogs will have been a disappointment to the Monarch. Royal biographer Christopher Andersen said: ‘She relied on daily walks and horseback rides… because they were her alone time.’
