Partygoers at an illegal rave in Cornwall have gone some way to appeasing annoyed locals by clearing up their mess after the three-day binge.
Several hundred revellers descended upon Davidstow Moor on Friday (June 3) as they turned the area into a makeshift campsite, with many being turned away by police.
And while the Devon and Cornwall force are set to take action against the event organisers following numerous complaints from residents in the area, some ravers stayed behind to help tidy-up the rubbish left behind.
A Facebook post from Tony C Steed showed several pictures of the clean-up operation, with the comments: “For all the locals saying the rave at Davidstow have left all the rubbish behind, I’ve got livestock in the vicinity and have had no problems at all.
“And they are refusing to leave until they have picked all the litter up and I’ve found them all good people.”
Tony confirmed that the mess was all cleaned up on Monday (June 6), which will hopefully allow the local community to return to normality once more.
A GoFundMe page organised by Lilly Pearse, to raise £1,000 to pay for the tidy-up, surpassed its goal in just six hours.
She said: “The crews spend thousands to put these parties on for everyone to come to – and stay to pick all of the litter everyone leaves behind. Resulting in having to hire many skips and trucks to leave the site as we found it and respect the land.
"We’re politely asking if everyone could donate some money to cover some of these costs that the crews have to pay for. It would be so much appreciated to see everyone get together and show their support.”

Devon and Cornwall Police are determined to take action against those who oversaw the rave, stating: “We would like to reassure the local communities and wider public that we are taking this matter seriously and where appropriate, we will seek to take action against those attending and running the event.”
Even with the revellers doing their bit, some locals were still not happy with the event on the doorsteps.
Colin Caudery, who lives nearby, told the BBC he had been kept up all night by the booming speakers.
“Drunkards from Scotland, Liverpool, Brighton, London, everywhere, it’s just been total chaos,” he said.
