The would-be thief who allegedly bashed an East Village ice cream shop worker with a rock was caught on video boarding an MTA bus shortly after the cold-hearted attack.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. on Jan. 20, when the suspect walked into Van Leeuwen Ice Cream at 432 Third Ave. and placed an ice cream order, according to cops.

When the 23-year-old employee looked away, the worker allegedly pulled a rock from his bag and chucked it at her head, while demanding money.

He fled empty-handed, cops said.

The female cashier was treated for a concussion at NYU Medical Center, cops said.

Immediately after the attack, the suspect boarded an M2 bus on Madison Avenue near East 28th Street, a few blocks away, video released late Thursday shows.

Footage shows him wearing a dark-colored coat and sweatpants, light-colored scarf and black and red sneakers.

Police believe he was connected to three other robberies in Manhattan over the last month.
