A MAN has appeared in court charged with murdering PC Sharon Beshenivsky 18 years after she was shot dead.

The 38-year-old was gunned down and killed during a bungled armed robbery at a travel agent in Bradford on November 18, 2005.

Piran Ditta Khan, 74, has been extradited to the UK from Pakistan charged with murder.

The ex-bouncer is also charged with robbery, two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon.

Khan is also accused of robbing Mohammed Yousaf for an unknown amount of cash in Bradford on the same date as Sharon's killing

He was allegedly in possession of a MAC 10 pattern sub machine gun that was designed or adapted so that two or more missiles could be successively discharged without repeated pressure on the trigger and a 9mm pistol.

Khan, who walked in and out of the dock with a limp, was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.

PC Beshenivsky had only been a police officer for nine months when she was blasted in the chest on what was her youngest daughter Lydia's fourth birthday.
