SHOCKING pictures show the aftermath of the US Capitol riots, with windows smashed, furniture vandalized and a "treason" flag on floor.
The events come after rioters yesterday sieged the building, forcing Members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence to evacuate in bloody violent scenes that left four dead.

The events came after supporters of President Trump sieged the building as Congress met to certify Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States.
Staff on the Hill were seen sweeping up broken glass and picking up debris left scattered after the building was finally cleared.
Glass windows were seen shattered, and a flag with the word "treason" was seen lying on the floor.
Members of Congress' offices were completely trashed.
Piles of paper were scattered across the floor.
Furniture was even broken, and lay in shambled pieces.
The FBI on asked for tips on identifying those involved in the events yesterday.
"The FBI is seeking to identify individuals instigating violence in Washington, D.C. We are accepting tips and digital media depicting rioting or violence in and around the U.S. Capitol on January 6. If you have information, visit http://fbi.gov/USCapitol," the FBI tweeted.
Meghan McCain, media personality and daughter of late Republican Senator John McCain, slammed the aftermath on Thursday.
"The people who did this are animals and should be tried to the full extent of the law as the domestic terrorists they are. This will not stand," McCain tweeted.
Lawmakers have vowed to investigate how the events were handled by law enforcement following the violent events.
DC Police shared a traffic advisory again on Thursday, as the department said First Amendment demonstrations were expected for the third day in a row.
President Trump had just finished giving a speech – in which he made repeated baseless claims of voter fraud – when rioters tore down fencing and stormed the Capitol.
Despite the riots, members of Congress met after the Capitol was cleared and officially confirmed Biden as the president-elect.
Following the bloody scenes, several key members of the Trump administration have resigned.
The latest of those to quit is Mick Mulvaney, who served as Chief of Staff and special envoy to Northern Ireland.
“I can’t do it. I can’t stay," Mulvaney said.
Stephanie Grisham, First Lady Melania Trump's chief of staff, White House social secretary Anna Cristina "Rickie" Niceta, and White House press aide Sarah Matthews are also said to have quit amid the events.
