Spa asks customers to bring their own slippers due to national shortage

A national slipper shortage has led hotel and spa bosses to beg customers to bring their own.

The slip-on footwear is the latest victim of the global supply chain crisis.

Dozens of outraged guests have complained about the lack of complimentary slippers during hotel stays and spa trips on holiday review site Tripadvisor.

One punter was left speechless when they were emailed ahead of a visit and told “bring your own”.

The guest, who had tried to book a stay at Greenwoods Hotel & Spa in Essex, was told: “Unfortunately, due to a national spa slipper shortage we are unable to provide these during your stay.

“If you would like to have footwear during your spa stay we recommend you bring your own slippers or flip flops.”

Supply chains have been hit due to a lack of HGV drivers since Covid struck. This has led to hotels and other large establishments being hit particularly hard due to buying in bulk.
