Terrifying Ring doorbell video shows moment thugs creep up on man and pull him to the ground in horror mugging | The Sun

THIS is the shocking moment two thugs creep up behind a man before pulling him to the ground in a terrifying mugging – with the attack all caught on a Ring doorbell cam.

The chilling video reveals how the two men silently creep up on their victim before brutally grabbing him and dragging the victim to the ground.

One hooded assailant threw the man to the floor after dragging him behind a parked car, while the other was captured going through the victim's pockets.

He can be heard demanding money, he said: "Where's your wallet?" several times.

As the mugging victim struggles on the road he can be heard shouting for help.

He yelled: "'help, help, help" before finally "Oh f***ing hell" when he realised no one could hear him.

The thugs then fled the scene, at Albion Place in Ramsgate, Kent, and escaped through a park with an unknown amount of stolen items and cash.

The attack, which took place on Friday October 21 at 10.30pm, was recorded on a 70-year-old homeowner's Ring doorbell and after reviewing the evidence he immediately called the police as well as an ambulance.

However, by the time he had hung up, the victim had mysteriously left the scene.

The pensioner, who does not wish to be named, said: "I was watching TV and heard shouting outside the house.

"I looked out of the window, but in the dimly lit street, I could not see anything untoward.

"I opened my Ring doorbell video app and was horrified to see the recording of the mugging and the victim being dragged.

"All the time, all I could hear was a man shouting "help, help, help".

"After watching the recording, I looked out of the window again and could make out where the victim was laying, so I phoned 999.

"When I had hung up from the phone call, I looked out of the window a final time and the victim was nowhere to be seen."

The pensioner claimed that this event is proof the area is dangerous after dark, exacerbated by a lack of police presence and CCTV.

He also alleged drug dealing is prolific as the council let trees and shrubbery overgrow which creates a lot of areas hidden from view.

"Seeing the attack made me me feel frightened. As a 70-year-old, it is not safe here.

"After I called 999, someone came to his aid and he staggered away," he added.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police received a third party report at 10.44pm on Friday 21 October 2022 after doorbell footage was reported to have captured a person being assaulted.

"The victim is then reported to have left the area after being collected by a person driving a vehicle.

Ring doorbells have captured many crimes in action, last month one family were forced to watch a burglar raid their loved one's home.

Prolific thief John Donakey entered the home of an elderly woman after looking through the window and seeing her asleep on a chair.

The woman's family were alerted to movement from the Ring doorbell and watched the event unfold as they called 999 – but when officers arrived they could not find Donakey.

Footage from live CCTV shows Donakey climbing into the pensioner's home in Cumbria and searching through drawers a few feet away from her.

Earlier this month, one man revealed how his Ring doorbell security system actually captured his girlfriend cheating on him.

The anonymous writer said: "That evening, I made sure the Ring doorbell was working so I could keep an eye out for a delivery.

"The next day, my Ring doorbell app went off at 10.32am. I was so excited, I stepped out of my meeting to check if it was my parcel.

"But pulled up on the drive was a car I didn’t recognise and a man I’d never seen before standing on my doorstep.

"He went inside and didn’t reappear until two hours later. At 12.45pm, he kissed my girlfriend goodbye before getting into his car.

"She obviously doesn’t understand that the new doorbell allows you to see whoever is at your home, through your phone, by sensing motion."
