Tommy Robinson to cash in on his notoriety by launching UK media company

TOMMY Robinson is using his far-right notoriety to launch a UK media empire after revealing a plot to tour the world, The Sun can reveal.

The English Defence League founder, 36, has set up the new media company following his release from jail in a bid to cash in on his alt-right fame.

He has established the "news agency" firm called Bubba Media and in a comment to The Sun claimed the company will be a "news site".

He also changed bosses on another called Lennon Consultancy for "book publishing".

Robinson, who we revealed is being touted as the next Ukip leader, is understood to be planning a lucrative speaking tour for his followers around the globe.

The anti-Islam campaigner, under real name Stephen Lennon, set up Bubba Media in November and resigned from his second company Lennon Consultancy.

Both firms are registered to a large business park in Luton.

The move follows on from the far-right activist working for Canadian alt-right news site Rebel Media and raising £100,000 in donations in 2017 to build a recording studio.

A source said: "Tommy's been looking at setting up businesses to channel money in the UK for some time.

"This appears to be another step and a way for him to launch his media empire in Britain with the help if his backers after being released from jail."

Robinson also caused a stir in November when he was appointed a Ukip adviser – prompting ex-leaders Nigel Farage and Paul Nuttall to quit the party.

Current Ukip boss Gerard Batten is thought to be trying to change party rules which would allow former EDL or BNP members to join.

Robinson was jailed for 13 months last May for contempt of court after filming outside a grooming gang's trial at Leeds Crown Court.

But the verdict was quashed in August and the far-right hot head was released – with the case referred to the attorney general.

Robinson had walked straight from court and held a boozy lunch at the House of Lords with Ukip bigwig Lord Pearson.

He had nearly half a million Twitter followers before he was banned from the social media site last year because he breached its “hateful conduct” policy.

And last month it was revealed by the Guardian he had received £47,000 from one Philadelphia-based think tank and £5,000-a-month when employed by Rebel media in 2017.

In an email reply Robinson said he had to set up the "news site" because the public are fed up of "fake news".
