Who bought Charles Manson's murder house? | The Sun

THE horrific crimes of Charles Manson and his "Manson Family" cult are well documented as some of the worst in American history.

One house in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, was the site of many crimes. Here, we look at the house and who lives there now.

Who owns the Charles Manson house?

The notorious murder house was purchased for $1,875,000 on June 15, 2021, by a mystery buyer.

Its Redfin listing read: "Attention builders/developers/flippers/history buffs and those looking [to] add their touches to reimagine one of LA’s most unique properties.

"This is an ideal opportunity. Classic, 1920’s Los Feliz gated single story pool home with breathtaking, unobstructed front and back views and an infamous history."

Zak Bagans, star of the Travel Channel's Home Adventures, bought the property for $1.98million in 2020 with the idea of shooting a movie there.

But Bagans later scratched the production out of respect for the LaBianca family after deciding the troubled history of the home should be laid to rest.

The home was then purchased by the anonymous buyer after sitting on the market for almost nine months.

The Redfin listing confirmed the house was off the market, with the website saying: "This home last sold for $1,875,000 on Jun 15, 2021."

TRAPPINGS OF WEALTH

Inside UK's 'most expensive bungalow' which is now £13.5m 'death trap'

Charles Manson’s followers savagely tortured and murdered LA grocer Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary in 1969, less than 24 hours after killing pregnant actress Sharon Tate and her three friends.

The gruesome gang had the property on their radar after allegedly attending a party next door to the LaBianca house and decided at random to kill them as part of a scheme to inspire a race war.

The Family Members – including Leslie Van Houten and Steve "Clem" Grogan – savagely tortured, murdered and mutilated the wealthy LA couple.

They then used their blood as ink to write "Rise," "Death to Pigs," and "Helter Skelter," a misplaced reference to the Beatles song "Helter Skelter," on the walls and refrigerator door.

Manson and his cult members were sentenced to death in 1971 for their crimes, in what was dubbed the "trial of the century".

This was commuted to a life sentence in 1972 as capital punishment was abolished in the state of California.

Manson died on November 19, 2017, suffering a cardiac arrest in a California hospital as a result of respiratory failure.
