Young Russian woman placed on US sanctions list for 'helping Vladimir Putin bid to swing the election for Trump'

A RUSSIAN woman sanctioned by Barack Obama helped hack the US election in favour of Donald Trump, it has been claimed.

Alisa Shevchenko, who has been employed by businesses to help root out cyber security flaws, was rapped by the outgoing President in retaliation for alleged meddling on behalf of Vladimir Putin.

Her company ZOR, which was said to aided Russian spies with "technical research and development", has been banned from operating in the US.

It was one of dozens of individuals and firms named in a lengthy sanctions list after American intelligence agencies said the Kremlin had mounted a hacking campaign during the run up to the election in November.

But Shevchenko, a Thai kickboxing fanatic, says she has been singled out because she is a woman.

"A young female hacker and her helpless company seems like a perfect pick for that goal", she said in encrypted emails to The Guardian.

She said the White House could have been tricked by a "counterfeit in order to frame my company".

She also slammed the "insane level of hysteria around the entire 'Russian hacking' story."

Incoming President Donald Trump swerved sharply from convention by openly disagreeing with the US security community when he denied that Russian hacking affected the election.

The President-elect insisted it had "no effect" on the vote.

He came to his view despite seeing classified reports from spooks at the NSA, FBI and CIA saying Putin personally ordered an espionage campaign on his Democrat rivals.

"Russia's goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency," it says.

Kremlin strongman Putin "developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump" and acted to help him win "by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavourably to him", it continues, stating its judgement with "high confidence".

But self-confessed computer geek Shevchenko said she couldn't have helped the Russian government because she never works with "douchebags".

"I only work with honest and open people that I feel good about,” she told the paper.

When asked if she had ever worked with any governments, she said "not that I know of".
