Billie Eilish Is Now Bleach Blonde, Has Curtain Bangs

A new Billie Eilish era is upon us. The superstar just took to Instagram to debut a new bleach blonde hair color and chic layered cut, including trendy curtain bangs. Her signature black hair with green roots are no more, last seen at the Grammy awards this past weekend.

Fans knew a major hair change was coming soon, because Eilish told them so on Instagram Live back in December. “I’m changing it after the doc comes out,” she said, referring to her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry. “It will be the end of an era. I’m going to give you a new era.”

Internet sleuths have been claiming for days that Eilish has been wearing a wig, sharing photos of all her recent appearances as proof. The singer had been wearing hats and scarves a lot recently, and was even wearing a bucket hat at Sunday’s Grammy awards (where she took home four awards).

Eilish is no stranger to hair color transformations. Over the last several years, she’s had silver, violet, black, and various shades of blue hair, though she wore the green roots look since 2019.

It turns out Eilish isn’t even a fan of the color blue, even though her hair was dyed that color for months. “I was told that whoever dyed my hair in October used a permanent blue, so that shit is not coming out,” she told Buzzfeed back in 2019. “I have sat in that stupid salon chair for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours trying to get that blue out, and that bitch will not get the fuck out of my hair.”

Eilish was born a natural blonde, so in some ways, she’s going back to her roots. They’re just no longer neon green.
