Chanel Shut Down Rockefeller Center to Celebrate 100 Years of No. 5

Believe it or not, it's been 100 years since the Coco Chanel first launched the iconic No. 5 scent. So to toast to the centennial anniversary of the fragrance, you'd expect that the French fashion house would do it big, right?

Well, it did just that.

On Nov. 5, editors, models, and performers alike gathered to celebrate No. 5 In the Stars. The Brass Queens Band played catchy tunes to get the evening started, a variety of figure skaters performed synchronized routines on the Rockefeller Center No. 5 ice rink, and none other than the legendary Mary J. Blige sang live for attendees — wearing Chanel from head to toe, of course.

Guests also got to experience the unforgettable outdoor exhibition, which included an illuminated array of the fragrance bottles from over the years, a custom GIF photo booth, as well as games.

VIDEO: Here's How to Apply Perfume For a Lasting Scent

While the opening night of the celebration was reserved for a small number of guests, the entire exhibit will be open to the public from Nov. 6 to the 12 at Rockefeller Center in New York City. So if you've ever spritzed on some of your mother's, or your mother's mother's favorite perfume, you'll definitely want to experience this for yourself.
