Curious What The Bachelor's Matt James's Skin-Care Routine Looks Like? We've Got You

The secret to Matt James’s perfect skin isn’t genetics — or, at least it’s not just genetics. The Bachelor star paid a visit to Ject, a New York City-based med-spa with his best friend Tyler Cameron for an extraspecial facial before filming started for the show.

Brad Crerar, PA-C at Ject, saw James and Cameron for their treatments and recommended the AquaGold Fine Touch facial, aka the “event facial” as he refers to it, for its ability to hydrate skin and make it look poreless. “James mentioned having a very basic skin-care routine; essentially just a bar of soap to cleanse his face,” said Crerar, before explaining that bar soap can strip the skin of moisture, making it not ideal to use on the face. “Now that they are in front of the camera often, a good skin-care routine is imperative.”

The AquaGold Facial at Ject uses 24K gold microdosing technology to infuse the skin with a blend of potent skin-care ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. “I am able to tailor the exact amount of each ingredient based on my clients’ concerns,” said Crerar. “In general, with AquaGold, I’m able to address pore size, brightening of skin, and reduce oil production.”

But no matter how good a professional treatment is, there’s no one and done solution for good skin — it’s all about consistency. That’s why Crerar recommended a basic regimen for James to keep up with at home, in addition to coming back for more AquaGold facials in the future. “For James and Cameron, we recommended the products: our bestselling AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser ($45), Glytone Lipid Recovery Cream ($45), and Isdin Melatonik ($150),” he said. “The Melatonik is very popular amongst men and my personal favorite. It’s a great combo product made with vitamin C, melatonin, and bakuchiol, which is a plant-based ingredient that mimics the effects of retinol.”
