Guerlain launches their first ever London pop-up

Though Guerlain is a French beauty heritage brand, it’s never had a bricks and mortar pop-up in the UK.

Arriving in the heart of the capital, the designer brand has now changed this with a pop-up boutique in Covent Garden.

Having opened its doors this weekend, the pop-up will stick around until the end of March 2022, giving beauty fans plenty of time to test, sample, and shop all the brand has to offer.

Since being founded 1828, boutiques have always been at the heart of the brand that prides itself on being luxurious.

Over in Covent Garden, Guerlain is now occupying a 130sqm gallery at the Royal Opera House Arcade.

As well as swatching and spraying makeup and perfumes, shoppers can join in mini masterclasses in a VIP consultation room, which hosts bespoke services to tailor the experience to the individual.

These are some of our top picks you’ll be able to buy at the boutique.

Terracotta The Bronzing Powder

Get it for £39.

The makeup item the brand is most famous for: the bronzer.

Every summer Guerlain launches their Terracotta range – a limited edition, sun-inspired range – though, the bronzer is always a mainstay in the offering.

Looking a tad orange in the pan, we were pleasantly surprised by how neutral in tone this applies.

Maxi Lash So Volume Mascara

Get it for £29.

The wand on this is long yet fairly narrow, which means accidentally smudging it onto your eyelid is, thankfully, unlikely.

Rose aux Joues Blush

Get it for £38.

Throw out the mini scratchy brush this comes with and use a fluffy powder blush for a more-is-more flush.

It’s buildable and bright.

Parure Gold Foundation

Get it for £65.

£65 may feel like a lot to spend on a foundation, but if you’ve struggled to find one that lasts and looks just as good in the evening as it did when first applied in the morning, you’ll be impressed here.

It even stays put if for some reason you find yourself crying – be it from the cold weather, laughing hard or a stressful day at work.

Our only gripe is the ridiculously small shade range, which is a problem with many heritage designer beauty brands. It truly is a shame lots of skin tones (both in depth and undertone) can’t enjoy the radiance this imparts on skin.

Contrast Shadow Duo

Get it for £28.

If simple, quick and understated eye looks are for you, you’ll enjoy the ease of these sticks.

Swipe on the pad of your finger and blend on.

If buildable pigment is more your vibe, steer clear of this sheer formula.

Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria EDT

Get it for £91.

Guerlain is known for its Aqua Allegoria range of perfumes, which are all delicate on the skin.

This particular one is like a burst of summer in liquid form.

It’s not especially long-lasting given it’s an EDT, but for something refreshing, light and uplifting it does the trick.

Rouge G Luxurious Velvet

Get it for £26.

The epitome of fancy, get your lipstick with a special case that flips open to reveal a mirror.

Coming in a variety of options, the case means you can switch multiple lipsticks in and out for easy on-the-go application.

If you’re adverse to scented makeup however, this might not be one for you.

Intense Liner

Get it for £33.

This is as pretty as liquid liner gets.

Thanks to a slim brush, you can get both thin and thick lines without problem.

The Guerlain pop-up store will be located at Unit No.10 Royal Opera House Arcade, Covent Garden. Weekday opening hours are 11am-8pm, Saturday 10am-8pm, and Sunday 12pm-6pm.
