Chet Hanks debuts bold chest tattoo in dramatic conversion to Christianity

Adele chatted up by Tom Hanks’ son Chet after bikini picture

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s son Chet Hanks has been the centre of countless controversies since his teenage years, but the actor has seemingly made a dramatic conversion.

The 32-year-old revealed a bold new cross tattoo across his chest, covering up what used to be the illuminati symbol of an eye over a pyramid, on Instagram yesterday.

Alongside his tattoo’s debut, the Hollywood star made a candid declaration writing: “I have been in character for as long as I’ve been in the public eye. I’ve played many roles and worn many masks.

“Actor. Rapper. Fitness guy. Lambo guy. None of them are the real me. I am an expert at playing the fool because I learned it as a survival mechanism.

“But the more I look around at the world I see that the world doesn’t need any more caricatures. False depictions of who we think we need to be. There’s only one thing the world needs more of and that’s God.

“All the pain in my life has been the result of one thing – the lie of believing that my purpose is anything but just serving God.”

In the caption, the YouTube star, who was a self-professed atheist until his late teens, added: “It’s not fully clear to me yet how I can best serve Him but I feel that this level of honesty is a starting point. And I know He will continue to reveal more.

Chet then deleted every single one of his Instagram posts, leaving an empty page with the bio reading: “God is the greatest.”

The star has recently started opening up about his childhood and reasons he believes resulted in his erratic behaviours and addictions later in life.

Late last year on his YouTube channel, Chet claimed it was his parents’ fame that drove him to become the “black sheep” of the family and that he didn’t have a “strong male role model” to look up to.

The comment about Tom’s parenting garnered an onslaught of criticisms for Chet as the actor’s fans claimed he was simply an “entitled brat” who wanted to “throw his dad under the bus”.

However, in the clip, Chet went on to reassure viewers that he loves his parents and “wouldn’t want any different parents” but noted that growing up in a famous family is a “double-edged sword”.

He claimed that fans would put his father on a pedestal while assuming Chet was a “really arrogant, entitled spoiled brat”, as he explained: “I was just the son of somebody famous so I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition and that created a lot of contempt for me.”
