More insider reports confirm that Bennifer are going strong and look promising for the long haul.
In this week’s People issue, a Hollywood insider affirmed that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are an item like no other, revealing that J.Lo has finally “found someone who truly loves her for her” and that “Ben wants to protect what they have.” Meanwhile, a Lopez insider said, “They want to do everything they can to make this work,” and, “Even though their split many years ago was devastating for Jennifer, she has never had a bad word to say about Ben.”
“[Lopez] feels like they’ve been given a second chance,” the Lopez source added.
According to additional insiders, the two lovers have also been spending more time with one another’s children: Lopez’s 13-year-old twins, Emme and Max Muñiz, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s daughters, Seraphina Affleck, 12, and Violet Affleck, 15, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The Lopez source shared that the twins have been warming up to the actor, telling the outlet, “Emme and Max are on board with starting fresh in L.A.”
Lopez and Affleck first met in 2001 on the set of the rom-com Gigli and began dating in 2002. They got engaged later that same year, but postponed their wedding just days before it was scheduled to take place because of last-minute qualms and privacy concerns. The two eventually called off their engagement altogether in January of 2004.
Rumors of the stars’ rekindled romance began to circulate back in April, following both Affleck’s split from Ana de Armas in January as well as Lopez’s well-publicized split from Alex Rodriguez months later. She and Affleck have since been spotted looking intimate together again, photographed on romantic getaways to Montana and Miami, as well as frequenting their respective L.A. and Miami residences in long-distance visits. Plans of moving in together have received additional speculative attention, as Affleck was recently spotted house hunting with Lopez in Los Angeles.
Despite flaunting their PDA in shameless abundance, Lopez has nonetheless resolved to remain coy in conversations surrounding the subject of Affleck. In a recent TODAY show interview, cohost Hoda Kotb remarked that the star has appeared particularly happy in photos with the actor, egging Lopez on to share more details. In response, J.Lo smoothly redirected the conversation back to the subject of her reissued benefit song with Lin-Manuel Miranda, “Love Make the World Go Round,” and shared, “The song is out, five years since we’ve done it. And I believe that that message of loving one another and coming together and love is never more relevant than it is right now.”
She jokingly added, “You can call me. You have my number!”
