Lizzo Shares First Trailer For HBO Max Documentary Love, Lizzo

Lizzo recently released the first official trailer for her upcoming HBO Max documentary Love, Lizzo.

“Girl.. I’m bouta have a panic attack,” she tweeted.

The movie documents Lizzo’s rise from a shy kid writing pop songs in her bedroom to the world-beating pop superstar who made the flute rock.

“No matter what part of my story you come in at, I’m always chasing the music,” the rapper/singer says at the beginning of the 90-second trailer. “Y’all have no idea how close I was to this not being a thing.”

In the trailer, Lizzo is seen preparing to take the stage for a massive show and sitting for a photo shoot. The pop star also takes the viewers to her childhood days in the Detroit bedroom where she used to learn pop songwriting craft. She also reveals that she lacked the confidence in her voice to sing those lines for anyone.

The clip also shows Lizzo growing from a shy tween to a confident young woman. “Nobody was trying to sign a fat, black girl that rapped, sang and played the flute,” she says.

“Music gave me the opportunity to be who I am,” she says as her anthem “To Be Loved” blasts from the speakers.

The Love, Lizzo documentary, directed by Doug Pray and executive produced by Lizzo, premieres on November 24.
