From classic films to historic tv shows, you name it, and there’s a reboot for it. A Walk to Remember is one blockbuster that hasn’t gotten revived just yet. While celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary, lead actress Mandy Moore dished on the star she’d want to reprise her original role as Jamie Sullivan if the film ever received a spinoff.
During a chat with People, Mandy said, “I don’t know, Olivia Rodrigo or something like that.” She added, “Someone could redo this film.”
Highlighting the film’s impact, the This is Us star continued, “I would love to see it. It’s been long enough that, yeah, I feel like we’ve earned our place in cinematic history for a reboot at this point.”
This isn’t the first time Mandy offered up a candidate for a potential reboot. In 2018, she told Newsweek that she’d want to see Beanie Feldstein play a “Jewish Jamie Sullivan.”
Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, A Walk to Remember reportedly earned four times its $11.8 million budget following its theatrical release in January 2002.
