Jessica Mulroney, who was once close friends with Meghan Markle, has broken her silence in the wake of the release of Prince Harry and Meghan’s docuseries, and the duke's bombshell memoir, Spare.
The show focused largely on the royal pair’s romance and shared behind the scenes moments of Harry's intimate proposal and their wedding.
Photographs of their guests at the lavish nuptials were shown on the Netflix series, including one of Meghan’s former BFF Jessica.
While a handful of the duchess’ friends were interviewed for the show, stylist Jessica wasn’t – in the wake of the alleged breakdown of her friendship with the actress in 2020.
Now, over a month on from the release of Harry & Meghan, Jessica appears to have acknowledged the series with a photograph.
Posted over the weekend, Jessica shared a black and white photograph of her at what appears to be at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding, alongside some other guests.
These guests included Lucy Fraser and Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer – both of whom featured in Harry & Meghan.
In the series, Lucy spoke about Meghan’s “hot girl summer” before meeting Harry, while Abigail discussed the interview she and a handful of Meghan’s other friends did with People in 2019 to defend her.
“When you see her at walkabouts, when she crouches down to talk to the kids and genuinely has real conversations with people, that’s Meg,” Abigail said in the article.
Jessica didn't caption the photo and has turned the comments on the post off.
The cause of Meghan and Jessica’s fallout is believed to be as a result of comments made by the stylist regarding “white privilege”.
She came under fire from influencer Sasha Exeter who called her out for allegedly “very problematic behaviour and antics” within the fashion community. While Jessica publicly apologised, she tried to use her friendship with Meghan to cover her own back. This reportedly caused the Duchess to put a swift end to their long-standing friendship.
In response to the claims, Jessica wrote via Instagram: “As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and centre. It was deeply educational. I learned a lot from that. I promise to continue to learn and listen on how I can use my privilege to elevate and support Black voices.”
Days later, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that the royal wasn’t happy to have been dragged into Jessica’s drama.
