In a recent interview with Classic Rock, former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell discussed his family band and how his former bandmate Lemmy Kilmister would have reacted to the coronavirus pandemic.
Two days after Motörhead founder Lemmy’s death in December 2015, Campbell announced that the English rock band had disbanded. The following year he formed Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, featuring his three sons Todd, Dane and Tyla.
Campbell said his wife didn’t like the band name coined by singer Neil Starr.
Asked what Lemmy would have made of the pandemic, Campbell replied, “I don’t think he would have wanted to tour.”
“He might have just said f**k it, gone out and played. But when he saw people dropping, I think he’d have realized the danger,” the Welsh rock musician added.
Campbell recalled that Lemmy, who he described as quite lazy, liked to just stay home when he could.
