Peter Andre says if Princess or Junior go on Love Island he’ll ‘leave the country’

Peter Andre said he'll "leave the country" if one of his two children with Katie Price decide to go on Love Island.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Friday morning, Peter, 49, talked about his two children, Princess, 15, and Junior, 17, and how he wanted them to present shows rather than be contestants.

Host Kate Garraway asked if it was true that Peter would ban his kids going on Love Island, she also asked why this was.

Peter responded: "I say things in jest a lot of the time. I've said my daughter was going to be a nun for how many years, you know, and everyone knew I was joking, but I was kind of secretly going 'hopefully'.

"But you know, when they turn 18, kids are gonna do what they want. What I said to them is, if you have a choice, I'd rather you present Love Island. Although Maya Jama is doing a great job right now.

"What I'm saying is that's what I always said. It's better to try to be a presenter. Look at yourself in that way rather than a contestant. Even though I have been a contestant in many shows.

"But no, if they really want to do something like that, I'll just leave the country."

Peter recently told OK! that he rather watch the Australian version of the show, saying "it's better" than the British version.

He said: "Emily, Princess and I are also watching the Australian one and we’ve secretly got more into that. It’s just too hard to keep up with two series!

"Some people think it’s too much to have two series a year, but I think it’s always entertaining and people are obviously watching it.

"From the episodes I’ve seen, I have to say Maya Jama is incredible on the show. She’s doing a great job."

Peter recently got backlash from fans and followers after he gifted his son a £25,000 Audi just months after he passed his driving test.

Peter quickly made clear that he has set rules for his eldest son, as he said: “I’ve set rules. He did amazing with his bike. He needs a lot of lessons. He will be great. He knows the rules.”

Peter discussed finding the perfect vehicle for his son ahead of his birthday in his new! column, as he wrote: "It feels crazy that little J is now old enough to drive. He's a good kid and makes me proud.

"I spent last week looking for his first car and asked him to give me a list of models he likes so the present will be a surprise on the day. But I don't want him to go too flash. It's his first car and he needs to be sensible."
