Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, 56, took to Twitter to slam Boris Johnson, 56, for laying out his post-coronavirus recovery plans for the economy, calling him a “virtue-signalling twerp”. The ITV star didn’t hold back as he blasted the Prime Minister’s plans which he shared in front of fellow G7 leaders at the summit in Cornwall.

How can it be more gender-neutral AND more feminine, you virtue-signalling twerp?

In view of his 7.9 million followers, the media personality blasted the leader of the government for his muddled speech.

Piers wrote: “How can it be more gender-neutral AND more feminine, you virtue-signalling twerp?”

The star’s tweet has nearly gained 4,000 likes from fans so far.

Speaking at the G7 summit in Cornwall, Boris told his fellow world leaders that the UK was looking at “gender neutral and feminine ways” to approach economic recovery following the coronavirus pandemic.

Boris addressed leaders including Joe Biden, Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron about the UK’s plans to get back on its feet.

He said: “I think there is the potential to generate many, many millions of high wage, high-skilled jobs and I think that is what the people of our countries now want us to focus on.

“They want us to be sure that we’re beating the pandemic together and discussing how we’ll never have a repeat of what we’ve seen”, he added.

The Prime Minister went on to say that the country was looking to “build back” in more “gender neutral and feminine ways”.

He continued: “But also that we’re building back better together and building back greener and building back fairer and building back more equal and in a more gender neutral and feminine way, how about that, apart from anything else.

“So those are some of the objectives that we have before us at Carbis Bay,” Boris finished.

Fans of Piers took to the comments section, with some feeling equally as confused at the message from the Tory leader as the former GMB host.

One wrote: “That speech was like someone woke up in a meeting and just started saying things.”

Another added: “Boris has a habit of saying lots of words that don’t really mean anything. They probably sounded great in his head.

“A more feminine economy? What does that even mean?”

Agreeing with Piers, a third penned: “The contradiction is hilarious. He has no idea what he is saying, except to try to impress his woke counterparts.”

A social media user commented: “WTF does Gender Neutral really mean?”

Piers’s furious tweet comes a day after he had a surprise encounter with former BBC Breakfast rival Dan Walker on the golf course.

After Dan revealed that he was behind the ITV star on the green, Piers teased fans as he reposted a selfie from Dan.

Alongside the picture he wrote: “Planning our new show… ‘Good Morning BBC Breakfast Britain’ #DreamTeam #Wentworth.”

In a short clip posted by the BBC star, Piers could be seen venting his golfing frustrations on a club after jokingly hitting it on the ground.
