Chloe Madeley, 33, the daughter of Richard Madeley, 64, and Judy Finnigan, 72, has said that her parents’ marriage is “not normal”, as she grew up watching them do everything together. It’s not normal

The fitness star revealed that watching her TV star parents’ relationships took “a bit of undoing” in her head, as she realised being together “all the time” isn’t normal.

Chloe said: “I grew up watching my parents do everything together.

“It took me a really long time to realise that’s not normal.”

The best-selling author confessed that it wasn’t until she met husband James Haskell, 35, that she finally understood how romantic relationships were supposed to work.

Chloe said she was glad when she met the sportsman, as she knew she would play second fiddle to his career.

“I’m really lucky that I found James when I did – because he was a rugby player, so I wasn’t going to come first.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Star, Chloe said: “With a rugby player, it’s them and their career – and you like it or lump it.”

The sporty couple tied the knot in December 2018 after James got down on one knee during a trip to Paris.

The Wasps player designed his beau’s engagement ring himself as he “wanted her to love it”.

Eight months later, James and Chloe married in a Christmas church wedding.

Chloe said: “We thought Christmas would be the most magical time of year to do it – and it was.”

Chloe’s comments about her parents’ marriage come just months after husband James revealed a startling admission of his own.

The former Wasps and England rugby player admitted to wearing one of his mother-in-law’s dresses on a boozy cruise on the Thames with friends and a stripper.

“It was a steaming hot, early summer’s day and people were starting to recognise me, despite or, more likely, because of the fact I looked like that bearded Austrian woman who won Eurovision [Conchita Wurst].”

He added: “The dress I was wearing actually belonged to my now wife’s mum.”

Elsewhere, Chloe also revealed that she benefits from her husband having bedded over 1,000 women.

Speaking on their Couples Quarantine podcast, the couple gave an insight into their life inside the bedroom – or in their case, outside of it.

The fitness star revealed that the couple are no stranger to getting intimate in the kitchen – especially when she’s cooking her husband’s favourite dish, “prawns pil pil”.

“”He loves prawns pil pil, so that’s like hot, spitting, boiling oil and I’m like cooking it, and then he’ll come up behind me and feel me up.

“And I’m like, ‘While I absolutely love this, I hate you for doing it now.'”
