Stevie Nicks Revealed Whether an Older Harry Styles Would Be Her Type

Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles rose to fame decades apart, but they’ve formed a very close bond all the same. The pair have performed together and praised one another’s music. They’ve also given glowing attestations of what they mean to one another. Nicks even hinted that an older version of Styles might interest her romantically.

Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles have formed a close friendship

Nicks and Styles first met backstage at a Fleetwood Mac concert in 2015. He’d previously met Mick Fleetwood, which ingratiated him with the band. It was Nicks’ birthday, and Styles brought her a cake as a gift.

“Piped her name onto it. She loved it. Glad she liked carrot cake,” he told Rolling Stone.

In 2017, Styles welcomed Nicks on stage at his concert. The following year, Styles joined Fleetwood Mac in playing “The Chain” at the MusiCares Person of the Year awards. At this point, Styles and Nicks had cemented their friendship. She’d described him as the son she never had and was one of the first to listen to his album, Fine Line.

“She is more than a role model — she’s a beacon to all of us,” Vulture reported Styles said when inducting Nicks into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “Whenever you hear her voice, life gets a little bit better. When she sings, the world is hers, and it is yours.”

The Fleetwood Mac artist revealed if she’d date an older Harry Styles

From all they’ve said, their relationship is purely platonic, two artists who have bonded over music and mentorship. Still, Styles did once describe Nicks in especially glowing terms.

“She is everything you’ve ever wanted in a lady, in a lover, in a friend,” he said at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “Stephanie Nicks, I love you. We all do. And that is true, Stevie.”

After this, the LA Times asked if an older version of Styles is someone Nicks might be interested in.

“Well, that would be a good thing,” she said.

As that version of Styles doesn’t exist, Nicks has no plans to start dating.

“Now, if I was even, like, 30 or 40 or 50, I would never use a dating app. I find that to be totally desperate,” she said. “I watch all those crime shows. Are you setting yourself up with an ax murderer or something?”

Stevie Nicks was married once before

Long before she struck up a friendship with Styles, Nicks was briefly married. In 1983, she married the husband of her good friend after she died of cancer. The move was not rooted in romance; Nicks wanted to help raise her friend’s son.

Within three months, they realized the marriage was a mistake and divorced.

“That wasn’t really a marriage,” she told The Guardian. “We did it to take care of her son. And, three weeks later, we realized that that wasn’t going to work.”

Despite this, Nicks is now close with her stepson, Matthew, and his daughter.

“I say to my friend Robin, who died so long ago: ‘Look through my eyes at your granddaughter.’ She was yours and now she is mine.”
