Kym Marsh, 46, lost the premature son she shared with her ex-husband Jamie Lomas, who plays Warren Fox in Hollyoaks, back in 2009. Almost a decade and a half later, the Coronation Street star has poignantly shared the pain that she still feels after losing her 21-week-old baby boy.
Archie, I promise to always do you proud!
The heartbroken Strictly star posted a photo of a candlelit shrine in honour of baby Archie, surrounded by angel wings and a yellow rose, as she marked Baby Loss Awareness Week.
“Today is a day to get people talking, and to remember all of our babies that were taken too soon,” the Corrie legend told her 525,000 followers.
She bravely admitted: “I am a mother who lost her child”, before pointing out the statistic that one in every four births end in miscarriage and premature death.
“We are a family who lost a piece of us. I know that pain and I also know how important it is to talk, to listen, to share,” she elaborated.

Kym was so traumatised by the loss that she later opted for an operation that would prevent her having more children in the future.
The star first got pregnant as a teenager, and now has four children and two grandsons.
However, nothing can quite take away her pain around the fifth baby that never got to grow up.
Kym announced that she would be lighting a candle at 7pm, along with others around the world, “for all of those precious babies who were taken too soon”.
The emotional star added: “They will never be forgotten and in their names we will continue to make change.”
She then pledged: “Archie, I promise to always do you proud. In our hearts and our voices your name and memory will live on. We love you always and forever.”
Kym had previously admitted that the miscarriage storyline she had taken part in for Coronation Street had taken her back to some “dark places”.
Soap history echoed real life when her character, Michelle Connor, lost her baby at 23 weeks old.
The brutal storyline reactivated some of Kym’s anguished emotions, as it took place just eight years after her own loss.
However, she explained that she had agreed to take part in the hope that others who’d been through similar situations could relate to it.
“Yes, I’ve been to some dark places and I’ve had to revisit the emotions I felt when I lost Archie, but hopefully some people will gain from it,” the tearful star revealed on ITV’s Loose Women.
“I’ve had a lot of lovely messages from both charities that raise awareness of stillbirth and from other ‘angel mummies’, as we call ourselves, who have been through a similar traumatic experience,” she explained.
Today was no exception, with followers flooding Kym’s Instagram pages with their own stories of heartbreak and healing.
She received more than 15,000 likes on the post, with one fan admitting she’d lost six children in a row.
Meanwhile, the likes of @linda.2320 empathised: “I’ve lost 2 baby girls at full term so I know your pain. Always remember them every day. Will light my candle tonight xx”
@bettymcpartlin added: “We lost our beautiful baby boy at 5days old 51yrs ago and he will always be in our mind and our hearts.”
Kym appears in Week Five of Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday at 18:30 on BBC One.
