Vicky Pattison has hit out at trolls on social media, telling her Instagram followers that she had a “rough weekend” after she “took some quite hurtful comments on the chin".
The former Geordie Shore star posted a photo of herself glammed up on the social media platform, placing it side by side with a shot of her with no make up.
Captioning the post, Vicky told her 4.7 million Instagram followers: "I don’t understand a lot about the trolling process. I can’t imagine what goes through a persons mind before they sit down to write something cruel or unnecessary to a person they don’t know."

Vicky continued: "I don’t particularly want to try & delve into the mind of someone who abuses someone online- I can only imagine it’s a pretty dark place.
“But after a relatively rough weekend, in which I took some quite hurtful comments on the chin- some I shared with you guys- others I honestly didn’t want to – I felt the need to try & find some sort of explanation for this completely sad & depraved behaviour & I came up with this.
“This picture on the left is who you THINK you’re insulting on social media.. People see a face full of makeup, a glam outfit & a smug caption & they assume that I’m this strong, sassy, together woman, who has it all figured out.

“But in reality, the picture on the right is who you’re REALLY having a go at. I am just a normal girl- who on most days- try as I might to be positive & strong feels so desperately overwhelmed & insecure in the industry I’m in."
Vicky added that she's "forever second guessing myself [and] worrying if I’ve upset someone" while also feeling "full of anxiety & a crippling lack of confidence".
"I want to love the way I look- I’m really trying to get there, but as most of you ladies know it’s a constant battle & more often than not I just end up feeling like I’m not good enough," she said.
“I lie awake at night worrying that tomorrow will be the day that I wake up & everyone realises I’m actually nothing special & all of this, the makeup artists, fancy clothes & exciting job will just go away. Just like that.”
The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here winner when on to add: “Do not allow a fancy photo on social media or a glossy feed on Instagram to fool you. We are ALL human. And the words you type go straight into the ears, heads & hearts of those who you think ‘don’t even run their own Instagram’ or ‘will never see this anyway.’
"No one has it all figured out & we all have doubts, fears & insecurities- please don’t be the person that exacerbates that. Realise your words have gravity & everyone, no matter how many followers or how few they have- has feelings.”
Vicky signed off by asking her followers to always “be a decent f**king human being” and telling them that if you haven't got anything nice to say, to not say anything at all.
