Why Christine From To All The Boys: Always And Forever Looks So Familiar

Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is coming to a bittersweet end. The third installment in the Lana Jean trilogy, based on the YA novels by Jenny Han, is set to stream on Netflix on Feb. 12. Always and Forever comes just in time for Valentine’s Day. It welcomes back many recurring characters, like Christine, played by actress Madeleine Arthur (per IMDb).

If Arthur looks familiar to you, it’s because she’s been acting for quite a while. She fell in love with acting after attending theater camp when she was 8. She landed her first gig in 2011 in R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour. She got a bigger break three years later, when she was cast as Amy Adams’ daughter in Big Eyes (per IMDb). She was also on The Magicians and more recently, has been exploring other areas of acting with her role as Nikki Genêt in Snowpiercer (per Screen Rant).

Acting isn’t her only talent either. Arthur was a competitive gymnast for 13 years, five of which she also helped coach younger kids. She’s also been playing the violin since she was 5 (per W Magazine).

Madeleine had a blast filming the third chapter

Christine is by Lara Jean’s side in their senior-year shenanigans, and it was a blast for Madeleine Arthur and the whole cast to film. They got to go on location in New York City. “It felt like we too went on this special trip, getting to film in some of the most iconic locations in New York,” she told L’Officiel of the experience.

Aside from visiting landmarks in the Big Apple, it was fun to relive other senior year moments, like prom, but through her character. “It was really fun to dip back into high school in general from a different lens,” Arthur explained. “And also to redo prom with all of the wonderful actors on set. There was so much dancing, which for me was the best part of prom.”

As for what’s next for the To All the Boys alum, there’s plenty of territory she’s eager to conquer. “Oh, I have so many dream roles. I would love to do a French movie one day,” she told Teen Vogue. “I love period pieces. So whether that’s the 1550s or the 1950s and just anything that tells a really good story. I love a good challenge. So anything that challenges me or my perspective or anything.”
