MICHAEL OLISE £2.2m) is eligible to play for four different countries: France, Algeria, Nigeria and England.
On current form, all four nations may be itching to cap the 20-year-old sooner rather than later, through FOMO (fear of missing out) alone.
Crystal Palace’s No7 has only started six games this season, with the vast majority of his appearances coming as a substitute, but it’s clear he has talent to burn.
Most notably, he gave Andy Robertson (£4.5m) a torrid time at Selhurst Park during Liverpool’s 3-1 win at the back end of January, a game that was much closer than the scoreline suggested.
In his first game since that eye-catching performance, Olise scored one goal and assisted another as the Eagles beat Hartlepool at the weekend to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The skilful winger has now registered four goals and five assists in 2021/22, which averages out at a goal involvement every 73.8 minutes in all competitions.
As is often the case with gifted young dribblers, it feels as if he’s flicked a switch very suddenly though there’s still plenty of room for improvement.
He’s caught the eye when taking defenders on in wide positions but his passing is much better than onlookers might expect – often young wingers are so committed to dribbling they are blind to key passes but this is not the case with Olise.
His upturn is most evident when looking at his Dream Team returns.
A string of substitute cameos meant he hardly made a ripple in the first third of the campaign but he’s produced 43 points in his last five outings.
Naturally, earning his place in the stating XI has coincided with a purple patch that Dream Team bosses should be aware of at the very least – he’s claimed two Star Man awards in his last four games.
Olise appears in just 0.1% of teams so he’s a huge differential and at £2.2m he’s dirt cheap as well.
As if to underline the ex-Reading midfielder’s potential, Palace’s upcoming fixtures are very tantalising indeed: Norwich, Brentford, Chelsea, Watford, Burnley.
Obviously the reigning European champions stand out in that list but Olise could run riot against the other four opponents, who are all below Palace in the league table at the time of writing.
Many Dream Team gaffers will also be thinking of backing Conor Gallagher (£3.3m) in the coming weeks.
The Chelsea loanee needs just three more points to reach three figures for the season and is by far and away Palace’s best performer and most-popular Dream Team asset at this stage.
