6 beauty brands that hold a Royal Warrant – AKA recognition from the Queen

Over the course of her 70 years on the throne Her Majesty the Queen has established a signature, understated beauty look, from her iconic hairstyle to her elegant pared-back makeup – with the odd bold lip colour thrown in on occasion.

Although we’ll never know the exact details of her beauty regime, we do have access to one list that gives us a little bit of insight into the products she may regularly use: the Royal Warrant Holders Association directory.

Brands that have been awarded the prestigious recognition receive it for supplying goods and services to the Royal households of both the Queen and Prince Charles (and formerly Prince Philip too).

In order for a brand to apply for a Royal Warrant, they must have supplied to the Royal household in question for at least five out of the past seven years. Here are some of the brands that currently hold the prized recognition.

Beauty brands with a Royal Warrant

Molton Brown

Who doesn’t love a nice Molton Brown fragrance or body wash? Many of the scents are classics – you can’t go wrong with Rhubarb and Rose or Orange and Bergamot. We take from this that the Queen’s bathrooms must smell sensational (as one would expect).

Clarins

There are so many brilliant and classic Clarins products that we aren’t surprised that this brand holds a Royal Warrant for the Queen. According to Town & Country magazine, she is thought to be a fan of the Ever Matte Mineral Powder, £28 here.

What's more, Clarins was the brand that the monarch reportedly commissioned to create a bespoke lipstick to match her coronation robes back in 1953. What an honour!

Elizabeth Arden

Another brand that comes to mind when you think of beauty classics is Elizabeth Arden. It has been reported that Her Majesty is partial to its Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipsticks, £22 here, and the brand has reportedly held a Royal Warrant for more than 50 years.

There’s of course no word on the Queen’s favourite shade of said lipsticks, but we do know that she is no stranger to a pop of pink or red lipstick, so we would hazard a guess that shades like Wild Berry and Rosy Shimmer could possibly feature in her collection.

Floris London

Historic London perfumer J. Floris holds a Royal Warrant for both the Queen and her son Prince Charles (although the latter’s is for “Toilet Preparations” rather than as a perfumer).

It has long been rumoured that one of the Queen’s favourite perfumes is Floris White Rose, £80 here, which is a lovely floral fragrance that mixes white rose with iris, amber and musk.

Penhaligon’s

Penhaligon’s is another very high-end perfume house that holds a Royal Warrant, but it wasn't actually granted for Queen Elizabeth II.

The brand held a warrant for both Prince Charles and formerly the Duke of Edinburgh. While we don’t know anything about which Penhaligon’s scent the Prince of Wales enjoys, it is rumoured that Prince William is a fan of Blenheim Bouquet, £115 here, while his grandfather Prince Philip was thought to be partial to Hammam Bouquet.

Kent Brushes

Founded centuries ago back in 1777, it makes sense that the world’s oldest brush manufacturer brand would supply to the Royal Family. But it’s not just our Queen to whom the company has had the honour of supplying hair brushes.

Not only that, but according to the brand Kent Brushes has supplied an incredible nine consecutive monarchs with its tools.
