With an incredible singing voice, acting talent and the uncanny ability to stay below the radar among Hollywood’s elite, Patrick Wilson has been able to move fluidly between the big screen and theatre stage while raking in a net worth of $7 million.
In 2001, Wilson sang On the Street Where You Live at the Kennedy Center Honors for Julie Andrews and gained national attention for his great smile, stage presence and undeniable talent.
Though the Insidious star has performed in a variety of different roles and shown he’s willing to do everything from musicals to horror flicks, it’s the latter that has kept his interest as of late.

In the mid-1990’s Wilson began his career on the stage. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he was an understudy in 1995 for a touring production of Miss Saigon and played Billy Bigelow in a touring production of Carousel in 1996.
By 1999 the 48-year-old was performing off-Broadway in “Bright Lights, Big City” and finally landed Broadway as Jerry Lukawski in The Fully Monty in 2000. Wilson’s performance earned him nominations for a Tony, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. He did it again with a performance in Oklahoma!, narrowly missing the winning statue for a second time.
By the mid-2000’s, Wilson had been invited to Hollywood to star in The Phantom of the Opera and alongside Elliot Page in Hard Candy. Fans were delighted in his performance in Running With Scissors produced by Brad Pitt and 2009’s Watchmen.
Though Wilson was experiencing success on the big screen, he never forgot his first love; taking every opportunity for Broadway productions, including, Barefoot in the Park and All My Sons. Wilson starred alongside Rose Byrne in James Wan’s horror film, Insidious and returned for the sequel in 2013, Insidious: Chapter 2. That same year, according to Wealthy Gorilla, Wilson portrayed Ed Warren in another horror film, The Conjuring which became one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time. The star played in two more of the Conjuring series throughout the years, including 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
Wilson and co-star Vera Farmiga have a on-screen chemistry that’s been praised among critics and fans alike and throughout his horror film career, he’s even changed his views on the supernatural. After meeting Lorraine Warren, a paranormal investigator, Wilson has said he believes there’s a positive side to the idea of ghosts and demons. They don’t always have to be bad.
According to Movie Maker, the “Aquaman” star has claimed horror films allow him to take an approach he couldn’t in his early years. He loves the melodrama and theatrical elements to the horror genre, prompting a different kind of exercise of his talent. With a will to push himself out of his comfort zone, Wilson says, the things that scare him are indeed, just that, and he’s constantly surrounding himself with people in the industry that he knows will push him.

Wilson’s other obvious talent is music.
YouTube is jam packed with videos of the singer/actor’s turn singing the National Anthem, God Bless America, Elvis classics and with the likes of Barbara Streisand. His voice may be the ticket to his successful Broadway career and he’s even lent his voice to films, like The Conjuring 2.
The rockstar and his two brothers formed a cover band, The Wilson Van. The actor of the group sings and also plays drums for the band.

Wilson and his family live in a modest home in New Jersey, they don’t flaunt their celebrity status and they don’t spend their money on lavish, flashy possessions. Instead, it appears the family chooses to focus on helping others.
Much of Wilson’s charity work is rooted in his hometown of St. Petersburg, FL and the family band. The Wilson Van has often performed benefit concerts for non-profits in the area, like Paws for Patriots and the All Children’s Hospital. In Jan. 2020, the band played at the Tampa Hard Rock Café to benefit wounded soldiers.
In 2015, the entire Wilson family, including Patrick’s parents, John and Mary Kay formed The Wilson Family Foundation, Inc. to support veterans, first responders, children with special needs and promoting the arts. Their primary fundraising tool is through The Wilson Van.
