A woman has jumped on the "pretty privilege" bandwagon by sharing the struggles she has faced because of her appearance.
Sahar Dahi, from Ontario in Canada, revealed that she was bullied as a teenager after her "glow-up".
Speaking to Daily Star, she said: "I was constantly picked on when I was younger just for being myself, which often included liking things that other people thought weren't cool. On top of that, I was never the 'pretty' or 'attractive' girl.
"When I was around 15-16 years old, I started growing into my look a bit and that led to getting severely bullied to the point where I had to switch schools.
"At that moment, I beat myself up over it a lot and I blamed myself for all of it.
"But looking back, I only did things that every teenager did (boy drama, gossiping, etc), yet I got bullied and harassed for it.
"I do believe this could have been due to jealousy or envy of people around me for this sudden 'glow up' I had."
In a video on TikTok, the influencer explained how it is still hard as an adult being good looking, as people often get excluded and hated on for no reason.
She said: “Pretty people get excluded a lot. I’ve heard girls say about them ‘I don’t want her to come, she’s too pretty’. They don’t get complimented that much or get hit on as much as everyone thinks.
“Because everyone thinks that no one actually does that.”
But it's not completely impossible.
Sahar told this site: "If you can find people you genuinely click with, people who understand you, and most importantly, put you in your place in a constructive way to help you better yourself – those are your real friends who see you for you and want the best for you."
The influencer isn't the first to have spoken out about the difficulties of being good looking.
A TikTok star recently said women refuse to be friends with her because she is too “gorgeous”.
And another woman previously revealed that she struggles being attractive while working in the male-dominated industry of construction.
