Blusher is having a major moment this season. You could argue that, while bronzer has historically been the front runner for this time of year, that gap has closed somewhat as beauty fans mainline a flushed cheek look using their best blusher.
So really Benefit Cosmetics’ latest launch, the WANDERful World Blush Collection, couldn’t have come at a better time. These ultra-light and silky soft powder blushers come in 12 different shades that have a soft-focus finish, including long-time fan fave Dandelion, and are available to buy for £27.50 here.
The blushers (apart from Dandelion) promise not to smudge and are humidity- and sweat-proof, plus they contain light-reflecting particles to give skin a seriously radiant glow. So how do the formulas feel on skin, and is there a shade for everyone? OK! contributor Vanese Maddix and beauty writer Lucy Abbersteen put a few shades to the test to find out.
Benefit WANDERful World Blushes review
Vanese says:
Crysta: “This is a nice strawberry pink and the finish is supposed to be a soft shimmer. You actually get quite a lot of product [in the box], which is really good, so I don't need to go in too hard [when applying].”
Moonie: “I really like how this applied, I think that the colour is really gorgeous. I love that you can see the berry tone coming through but also you still get that shimmer. Even though this particular shade is a velvety powder with a satin finish it still feels really, really nice on my cheeks. It doesn't feel too drying.”
Butterfly: "I love how quickly this colour [applies] you can see the shimmer but you can still see the golden orange coming through too. This is just giving a really nice sun-kissed look to my cheeks, which I am really obsessed with. I love this.
“The colour payoff just looks amazing. This is honestly going to save so much time; I’m not going to have to think about highlighter afterwards because I’ve got the colour and I’ve got the shimmer. I’m really impressed with these.”
Lucy says:
Crystah: “Like Vanese, I also tried out this strawberry pink shade first. I didn’t need a lot for this one to stand out on my paler skin tone, and it gives me a really nice healthy flush that blended super easily. On me, it’s a lovely bright shade that gives glowy summer cheeks. This is probably my favourite of the three I tried on.”
Java: “This one is described as a rosy mocha shade, and at first glance I actually didn’t think it would be that flattering on me. But it actually gave me a nice healthy flush, although I think the browny tones would make it a better option for my skin in winter. It kind of has a nineties vibe to it, which I like.”
Butterfly: “I can definitely appreciate that this is a glowy formula but, as beautifully as it blends, this shade is way too orange for my skin tone. This is definitely better suited to skin that’s darker than mine, as you can see it pops beautifully on Vanese. I’ll spare you my pictures.
“All in all though, these are really nice glowy blushers that don’t look too powdery and give that healthy look that everybody is obsessed with right now.”
