Benji Madden celebrated being married to Cameron Diaz for seven years by posting a sweet tribute about the actress to his Instagram on Wednesday.
“Today 7 years married ❤️,” the “Good Charlotte” member captioned a photo of a pink painting of tiger with a plant. “Always dreamed of having a family like this. Happy, peaceful, consistent, loyal and unconditional equally filled with passion and depth.”
Madden, 42, expressed how grateful he is for the time they get to spend together, saying that he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with 49-year-old Diaz.
“Calling it a Honeymoon doesn’t cover it. Real life. The only real challenge we have is making time go slower cause life goes by fast in the happy lane, Always and forever knowing we are home @camerondiaz Happy Anniversary I love you!❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote.
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress responded to her husband’s heartfelt post with her own loving words.
I ✨❤️✨YOU MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY. Happy, peaceful, consistent, loyal and unconditional. Passionate and deep = OUR LOVE LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS ✨❤️✨,” Diaz wrote.
Several of the couple’s friends, family, and fans took to the comments section to congratulate them on reaching their relationship milestone.
“Y’all r the Goats ❤️🥰,” his brother, Joel Madden, commented on the post.
“true love always,” his other brother Josh Madden added.
“Crying 😭 so beautiful, happy anniversary,” Cleo Wade wrote.
The pair tied the knot in 2015, less than a month after news of their engagement broke. They welcomed their daughter, Raddix, in January 2020.
Diaz opened up about waiting to get married until she was 41, saying in 2017, “I think it’s a matter of I just hadn’t met my husband, you know? I had boyfriends before. And there’s a really, really distinct difference between husbands and boyfriends. And I have a husband who is just my partner in life and in everything.”
She continued, “Talk about two very different people! We are so different from one another, but we share the same values — we’re totally two peas in a pod. We are both just weird enough for each other.”
Diaz also shared that her husband makes her feel respected, unlike other men from her past.
“We women are objectified so much,” Diaz had said. “Somehow my husband has just been able to kind of show me what it’s like not to have that be a part of a relationship, and being an equal.”
