A popular food blogger had divided the internet after sharing a simple recipe for cheese and baked bean croissant.
Eloise Head, 26, from Hampshire, who has more than a million followers on her FitWaffle Instagram pages, usually shares mouthwatering recipes for sweet treats and cakes.
But this week she shared a savoury snack instead, which she made by cutting up a croissant and adding cold Branston beans and grated cheese before baking it and serving it with brown sauce.
While some fans were quick to say they were going to whip up their own version of the treat, one French fan branded it an ‘insult to gastronomy’.

While some thought the concoction was a delicious looking breakfast, others said the dish was ‘awful’.
‘I know this looks weird, but trust me,’ she captioned the Instagram Reel.

‘It’s kinda like beans and cheese on toast, but buttery and flakey.
‘It was sooo good! Who’s gonna try it?’ Eloise added.

‘Mmmm as a French person , I can’t let you do this with a croissant. You don’t deserve eating one of the great figures of French gastronomy ahah,’ one joked.
‘Wtf are you thinking?’ wrote one Instagram follower.
‘I’m calling the police,’ added another.
‘Is this an early April Fool’s,’ wrote a third.

And while some were dubious about the pastry, others were keen to try it.
‘Yes! This is like a bean and cheese Greggs pastry,’ said one.

Eloise, who shot to online stardom when a baking craze swept the UK during the first Covid lockdown in spring, now has more than a million followers who usually swoon over her indulgent bakes.
‘I’ve really enjoyed setting up the Fitwafflekitchen page. It has kept me sane since the pandemic started. I’m a little overwhelmed by how amazing the followers have been,’ she told FEMAIL.
‘I’ve had some really touching messages from people who have taken to baking at home, either to relax or keep themselves occupied whilst in lockdown.
‘Last week I decided to set up a Facebook group called Baking it Simple, which is a group for home bakers to share their bakes and to interact with people with similar interests.
‘I’m really thankful for everyone that has tried one of the recipes or sent me a heartfelt message’.
