The Brit Awards were the talk of the town on Tuesday evening and stars ascended on to the red carpet to strut their stuff into the O2 Arena in London.
Adele sparked engagement rumours in a dramatic black gown whilst Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker announced her pregnancy in a gorgeous white and orange beaded dress.
We think it’s safe to say that it was a night of surprises and one trend that took over the carpet was the colour black as many stars opted for the chic shade — other celebrities decided to sported some risqué ensembles which left us speechless for good reasons.
So with that in mind we thought to take a look at some of the best dressed stars of the evening…
Adele
Adele can never get a red carpet look wrong and she showed she is a true professional as she floated down the red carpet in an incredible Armani Privé gown.
In true icon fashion, the singer let elegance speak for itself as the dress featured a polka dot lace overlay.
The star who chose to slick back her blonde locks also caused a stir as she showed off a giant ring on her engagement finger.
Maya Jama
Maya Jama channelled her inner Cher as she wowed in a replica of one of her iconic Bob Mackie looks.
The outfit was styled with a chic coordinating black faux fur shawl to add that extra bit of drama to the ensemble — and, of course, her £700,000 engagement ring.
Jodie Whittaker
Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker has announced she is expecting her second child with husband Christian Contreras as she debuted her bump on the red carpet at the Brit Awards.
The bold look consisted of a high neck cream dress which was heavily embellished with orange and white beads which cascaded down the oversize silhouette.
Her stylist Helen Sykes worked with Creative Director of Cimone, Carli Pearson, to create the amazing look to show off her bump.
Oti Mabuse
Strictly Come Dancing professional and Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse wowed on the red carpet as she stunned in a metallic gold lace gown.
The 31 year old oozed glamour as she complemented her look with a coordinating pair of gold heels and super sleek back hairstyle — effortless.
Anne Marie
Singer Anne Marie wowed on the red carpet as she opted for a black tailored blazer and trouser ensemble by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini.
We’re used to seeing the pop star wow with her quirky style but we’re loving this high fashion look with a darling bralette underneath.
Jamie Winstone
Jaime Winstone might have been recently unmasked on ITV’s The Masked Singer but wasn’t hiding behind any costume as she posed up a storm at the Brit Awards.
The star made sure to inject some fun into her outfit as she sported a black mini dress that came with a risqué cut out and a dramatic green feather trim.
It might look a little odd at first but the more we look at it, the more we love it.
Emily Atack
Emily Atack ticked all of the style boxes in a long sleeve glittery dress from high end designer Stella McCartney.
The actress also changed up her look by adding in some incredible waist-length hair extensions which were styled with loose mermaid waves.
Fans rushed to shower the beaut with compliments as one said: "WOW you look BREATHTAKING."
