This week Brooke Vincent welcomed her second child with long term footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan.
Their newborn makes a second son for the couple who have been together for five years and Monroe SJ was born at 8:14am, the exact same time as his older brother Mexx was born.
28-year-old Brooke shared the news on Instagram, saying: “On the morning of Tuesday 4th May at 8.14am; the exact same time as his big brother .. our little boy came into the world.”
As they get used to life as a family of four, let’s take a look back over Brooke and Kean’s relationship timeline so far…
How did Brooke and Kean meet?
The couple have been together for five years, but met a while before they made their romance official.
Brooke and Kean were living in the same area in Manchester and have mutual friends, which is how they got introduced to each other.
The pair have revealed their relationship was a “slow burner”, as they were dating for a long time before they became boyfriend and girlfriend.
Brooke told OK! magazine in 2018: “We’re from the same area, so we have a lot of mutual friends. They introduced us a few years ago and we instantly hit it off as friends.”
The pair finally moved in together in 2019 having previously lived separately but always very close by to each other.
In 2018, both the couple said that they were “too young” to be talking about marriage, however, Brooke prompted a swirl of rumours after wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring at Dancing On Ice.
How old is their son Mexx?
Brooke welcomed her first child, a son called Mexx, with her footballer partner in October 2019 making him now one and a half years old.
The Sophie Webster actress says she picked the unusual name after finding it had the perfect hidden meaning.
She said: “I've always loved it and when we found out we were having a baby, Kean loved it too and wasn't sure if it was actually a name.”
“But then I looked into it when I was pregnant and it means "the greatest" so for us it was perfect. I love I know nobody else with his name too! I think sometimes it's nice to have an unusual name.”
Speaking about Mexx’s character, Brooke also gave an insight into her relationship with Kean.
“Mexx has Kean’s temperament because he’s quite laid-back and really chilled, whereas I’m 100 miles per hour and everything has to be done yesterday," she’s previously shared.
When did Brooke announce she was pregnant again?
One year later, in November 2020, the Coronation Street star announced she was pregnant with their second baby.
“We wanted more children and we wanted them close together, so we’re both really happy,” she said at the time.
She said she found out when she was five weeks pregnant but decided to keep the gender a surprise.
Brooke said: “We weren’t necessarily trying, but it wasn’t a surprise either. It was something we’d spoken about. We said we wanted a baby sooner rather than later because we wanted them to grow up together”.
The couple has said that they would like to further add to their brood and have “lots and lots” of children.
Writing in an Instagram Q and A after Mexx was born, Brooke revealed: "I want lots and lots! Haha no I'm joking, I would love maybe 5 or 4 or maybe 3 but I'll see what happens after 2."
Brooke says that becoming parents to two children under two has strengthened her relationship with Kean.
"I’ve seen a completely different side to Kean that I’ve never seen before. For example, I’d say he’s not a morning person, but after Mexx, he’s so loving and sprightly in the morning now. But I wouldn’t say it’s changed for better or for worse, I’d just say I idolise him for different things now," she shared in a recent OK! interview.
Are Kean and Brooke married?
Speaking about marriage plans, Brooke says that isn’t a priority but maybe she will walk down the aisle when the time is right.
“We’ve always spoken about marriage, but I don’t necessarily think a ring on my finger is going to change our relationship," she said, adding:
“I’m glad that I didn’t get married before having Mexx. We’d be marrying as a family now, and that’s what we’d get married for, to become one. I’d want my babies there.”
