The Royal Family turn heads whenever they step out. But who is the most talked about royal members this year? Despite Meghan Markle and Prince Harry no longer being ‘senior royals’, they have taken the crown. And their interview with Oprah Winfrey has been awarded the “most talked about royal moment” too.
A new study has revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the most talked about royal couple of 2021.
The research conducted by Lucky Creek analysed global Google Trends data for the past year to establish which royal couple had caused searches to skyrocket the most, with Meghan and Harry taking the top spot.
Meghan and Harry were searched for 64 percent more than all other royal couples combined.
More specifically searched 367 percent more Kate Middleton and Prince William this year.

The interest in the couple peaked during their historic sit-down interview with TV legend Oprah Winfrey in March, causing headlines across the globe.
The interview was also the most talked about royal moment of 2021, being searched for 566 percent more than any other royal event.
It overtook Prince Philip’s funeral, which is the second most talked about royal story of the year.
As for what Kate and William’s most talked about moment of the year was, their tenth wedding anniversary made a splash with a BBC documentary and intimate Instagram post from the couple.
The anniversary caused interest in the couple to rise 410 percent above their yearly average.
The Queen was the third most talked about royal, alongside her late husband, Prince Philip.
The monarch was searched for the most in April during her husband’s funeral where she was pictured sitting alone in St George’s Chapel, with searches for the monarch surging 279 percent.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were the least talked about royal couple of 2021.

As for the rising star of the Royal Family, Lady Louise Windsor was talked about 165 percent more in 2021 from 2020.
Interest Prince Edward’s daughter peaked during Prince Philip’s funeral.
A spokesperson for Lucky Creek commented on the findings: “Meghan and Harry’s departure from working royal life in 2020 sent shockwaves across the world and this data reveals that their influence has only continued to grow.
“This year has been incredibly eventful for the entire Royal Family and it is fascinating to see Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey being hailed as the most talked about royal moment of the year.
“It is truly a testament to the couple’s influence that they have captured the world’s attention despite very few public appearances.”
It is thought Meghan and Harry won’t be returning to the UK over Christmas and New Year.
Instead, they will reside in Montecito, California.
The Queen has also cancelled her Christmas plans at Sandringham in favour of Windsor Castle.
