Cheryl goes back to her roots with voluminous ‘X Factor days’ hair makeover

We don’t hear much from Cheryl these days, which is a shame because the former L’Oréal ambassador was our go-to for beauty inspiration. She has, however, treated us to a rare look at a project she’s been working on – one that sees her reunite with three of her Girls Aloud bandmates.

The foursome are pictured in matching pyjamas for an important photoshoot with Primark to honour their late band member Sarah Harding, who sadly passed away from breast cancer last September. The aim of the shoot is to raise money for The Christie Charitable Trust and Cancer Research UK through sales of the sleepwear.

While the star-print navy PJs are certainly eye-catching – and we can’t wait to shop a co-ord for ourselves – we can’t quite take our eyes off the girls’ hairstyles. Cheryl, in particular, looks like she’s rocking a similar style to one she favoured back in her early X Factor days when volume was a main feature of her look.

Cast your mind back to 2008 when a 25-year-old Cheryl sat next to Simon Cowell on the X Factor judging panel. We loved seeing her hairstyles every Saturday night, and we quickly came to expect big bouffant looks from Cheryl.

Now, at 39, it seems she’s bringing the style back for the charity shoot – and she’s got her bandmates to join in on the hairspray action. Kimberly Walsh’s look is a far cry from her current hairstyle: a chin-skimming bob which she tends to style into subtle beachy waves.

As for Nicola Roberts, she’s cemented herself as #hairgoals on Instagram, so we imagine she hasn’t even needed extensions for this PJ shoot. Pretty much every selfie that the singer posts on Insta gets bombarded with fan comments and queries on how she grows her hair so thick and glossy. Spoiler: it’s good genetics and minimal messing around with hair dye.

As for Nadine Coyle, she’s been wearing her hair long and bouncy since the girlband parted ways in 2013, so the voluminous shoot look isn’t too dissimilar to one we’d expect to see her wear.

If you fancy shopping some fashionable sleepwear and helping a good cause, the cute PJs are on sale now in all UK and ROI Primark stores.
