Superstar sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey might be known for matching their outfits both on and off the stage — but they’re not afraid to go their own separate sartorial ways, either.
“Even though we like similar things we definitely have our own distinct styles,” 23-year-old Chloe, who released her debut solo single “Have Mercy” this summer, told Page Six Style.
“I would say I’m still figuring out my style. It’s been trial and error finding things that I like and things I don’t over time.”
Added 21-year-old Halle, who spent much of this year away from her sibling while filming Disney’s live-action “Little Mermaid” remake, “I think the most beautiful thing about fashion is being able to express yourself, and I love that your style can evolve. We’re constantly changing, and our style changes with us.”
But while 2021 saw the “Ungodly Hour” hitmakers going in different directions on several red carpets, it’s clear they still love a coordinated moment. Take the campaign for their new collection for Victoria’s Secret Pink, which sees the Baileys twinning in sporty crop tops ($26.95), leggings ($54.95) and trench coats ($84.95).
“Chloe and I are all about self-empowerment, confidence and embracing whatever body type you have, so we really wanted to create styles that make you feel good inside and out,” Halle explained. “We also wanted to work with neutral colors so you can mix and match, and of course, had to weave in our favorite color, purple.”
Chloe said that the designs were partly inspired by the sisters’ busy travel schedules. “We wanted to include pieces that are stylish, sexy and comfortable at the same time. This collection has all of the items we reach for when packing — there’s something for every mood and moment.”
And as Halle recently proved with her leggings look at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2021 Women in Entertainment Gala earlier this month, spandex pants can work just as well for a night out as for a morning jog.
“I think it’s all about the accessories. Adding some chunky jewelry and a pair of fun shoes does the trick,” she advised, while Chloe pointed to how the pair styled their Pink tights with cropped turtlenecks ($29.95) and stilettos for the campaign.
“It was the perfect way to elevate a leggings look,” she said.
